AFREMAC Consulting Inc., a consulting firm specialized in business development in the search for African markets, organized from Sept 21 to 23, 2015 in New Brunswick Economic visit of Mr. Jean-Baptiste Satchivi, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin and President of the Regional Consular Chamber of UEMOA (Economic Monetary Union of West Africa). The purpose of the visit was to promote economic relations between New Brunswick and Benin, as well as all countries of francophone Africa UEMOA.
The activities of the Beninese delegation began with a lunch conference in Edmundston, during which Cyriaque Kiti CEO of Afremac Consulting Inc. presented the emergence of African markets whose title was entitled “Why develop business in Africa? “.
Subsequently, the President of the BCCI, Mr. Satchivi took the floor to present multiple business opportunities in West Africa particularly in Benin for New Brunswick businesses in the province. On a clear and user-friendly presentation, he debunked the various fears and barriers to develop markets in Africa.
Thirty people, dignitaries, Minister, Deputy, business leaders, government officials and Opportunities NB, as well as some representatives of Collegial and University teaching institutions were present at the luncheon. The conference ended with a brief address by the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Edmundston, François Violette.
At the end of the conference, several individual discussions were exchanged between participants and delegation reflecting the interest paid to the conference.
It’s was during a formal dinner in the presence of twenty people including several dignitaries, Minister, Deputy, business leaders and government officials of the NB Edmundston Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Benin have signed an historic agreement of partnership and trade exchanges between the members of both Chambers.
All the guests present were glad for this agreement will have positive economic benefits for the province.
In Moncton, Mr. Satchivi representing the Regional Consular Chamber of UEMOA (80 million inhabitants), has prompted companies to go to Africa to seize business opportunities. He recalled the importance of organizing trade missions in Africa and in New Brunswick in the coming months.
